The Year of the Water Rabbit – a little background
According to the Chinese Zodiac, we are all assigned a powerful animal based on the year we are born.
There is the legend of the Great Jade Emperor, Yu Di, who was the ruler of the heavens. He wanted to devise a way to measure time. In order to do so he organised a race, where he challenged all the animals to cross the mighty river.
The first twelve animals who crossed the river, would earn a spot on the calendar and zodiac and become guards of his heavenly realm.
The first to cross the river was the Rat … and the last to make it across was the Boar/Pig (which happens to be my Lunar Astrology sign – I am an Earth Boar). The Rabbit was the fourth animal to make it across the river.
Later in this article I’ll share the animals in order and what the Chinese astrologers say is in store for your year.
The Year of the Water Rabbit
2023 is the Year of the Water Rabbit, also known as the “Yin Rabbit” in Chinese astrology. This appears to bode well for anyone thinking of progressing in their career this year.
The addition of the element “Water” in the year of the rabbit is said to bring an emotional and intuitive energy to the year, as well as a greater emphasis on communication and relationships at home and at work.
Water is associated with emotion, flexibility, and adaptability.
The Year of the Rabbit – A Year of Great Change
This year will be a time of great change, reflection, and self-discovery, and it will be important to be open to new opportunities, perspectives, and ways of thinking.
For anyone going through organisational change, or thinking about making a career change, be sure to take the time to gain career clarity before approaching recruiters or making applications for your next job.
There are many redundancies and layoffs in a number of industries right now and professionals are feeling anxious about the security of their jobs. Keeping an open and curious mind to the opportunities that inevitably arise when challenges occur will enable you to spot the possibilities and create the opportunities you desire.
It is said that the year of the Rabbit will be a good time for seeking advice and guidance from others, and for building strong relationships and networks.
It is also a good time to focus on personal growth and development, and to be open to new ideas and experiences. Take the time to build on your skills and learn how to manage your career effectively.
This year of the Rabbit is one where your sacrifices of the past will be rewarded generously.
It is predicted that this will be a rewarding one for those willing to take calculated risks. So do your due diligence, research and analysis, speak with a professional before making the leap into self-employment or making a career change.
The Rabbit Year – A Good Time to Start New Career Ventures
Owing to the rabbit being a fertility symbol, this is also a powerful year to not only start new business ventures, but also, be beneficial for those looking to have children and for artists to get inspired and move in new directions.
It’s important to consider your lunar birth sign in addition to the Year of the Rabbit predictions. Different signs may have different luck or potential challenges during the year.
For example, if you were born in the Year of the Rat, you may experience some competition or obstacles in your career, while those born in the Year of the Ox may have a year of hard work and progress
