FAQ

How do I know if you are the coach for me?

Please read through the information on my website and watch some of my videos and listen to any of my podcasts to find out if you like my communication style. It’s important to work with a coach with whom you feel comfortable for the coaching relationship to work for you.

If you like what you see and hear, book an exploratory chat so we can discuss your concerns and what you’d like to achieve through coaching. I’ll explain the different services and products that I offer, what you can expect during our coaching sessions, then you can decide if you’d like us to work together.

Where do you coach?

I coach globally via Zoom or Skype so regardless of where you are located, we can work together. With your permission, I can record our sessions (video and audio) so I can send them to you after each session for you to review. This is very useful as we cover a lot during our coaching sessions. My clients tell me they love receiving their recordings!

When are you available?

I am available on week days from 9am – 5pm (Australian Eastern Standard Time AEST) and on Tuesday evenings from 7pm-9.pm (AEST). Depending on your schedule, and my availability, I may be able to open up an extra evening for you, as needed. As I’m used to working across time-zones, we can discuss a suitable time if you can’t find a day and time that works for you in my online calendar.

How long are the sessions and what will happen?

Coaching sessions are 60 minutes. There will be exercises for you to complete in between sessions, or actions that you need to take, in order for you to be prepared for the next step in your career management or career transition process.

My Resume and LinkedIn Coaching package is 90 minutes long as there is a lot to cover in one session to get your Resume and LinkedIn profile up to speed!

How many sessions will I need?

Typically I work with my clients for 4 or 8 sessions depending on their needs. We work through a structured process to cover what is most important to you to gain control of your career direction, personal clarity or any challenges you are experiencing.

How much time should be allowed between sessions?

Usually we will work together once a week or once a fortnight depending on how much you need to take action on and at which phase in the process you are in. For example, if you are going for a number of interviews in the next week or so, you may wish to go through those interviews before our next session, in which case it may be 10-14 days before we have our next coaching call.

Do I have to do anything between sessions?

Towards the end of each coaching session we will agree upon actions that you will need to take to move you forward in the coaching process. Depending on the phase you have reached, there may be exercises to complete, research to be done, activities to work through and a different approach to try in order to be well prepared for our next session. The aim is to ensure your progress during and between sessions.

Will you tell me what I should do?

A Career Coach facilitates your personal empowerment and encourages you to take action to enhance your career and your life. I will help to guide you so that you have the clarity and confidence to take action or take the actions that will work best for you, your current circumstance and your future aspirations. At all times I provide support and a reality check while building your self-confidence so that you take control of your career journey.

We will work together so you understand your career and personal values, motivators and de-motivators, the skills and knowledge that you possess and your tangible accomplishments so that you can create your dream role.

What can I expect after completing a career coaching program with you?

My clients I’ve been privileged to work with over the past 19 years have had such positive experiences, and excellent outcomes! They have transitioned into new roles, some into different industries, some into different job functions.

Quite a few have transitioned into a completely new career, others decide on realigning their career, or transition into entrepreneurship and even retirement!  I’ve had clients set up online businesses, retail businesses, consulting businesses and also coaching businesses of their own.

Please view my LinkedIn profile for my testimonials from past clients (you’re welcome to contact any of them.) And while you’re there, send a personalised request to connect with me too!

How much do you charge?

My charges are displayed in the booking section of my website depending on whether you wish to book a one-off coaching session, a series of sessions – my VIP Gold Package (4 x sessions) or my VIP Platinum Package (8 x sessions).  These packages are offered at a special rate.

How long does it take to complete a coaching program?

This depends on your specific needs. Your sessions never expire so if you need to pause your program for personal reasons, or you wish to keep a session up your sleeve ‘in case’ you need it further down the track, you may do so. We can discuss any additional questions you may have during our exploratory chat. Book a chat here

What if I can’t attend a scheduled session?

That is no problem at all – you will need to let me know 48 hours in advance and we will reschedule that coaching session. If you cancel with less than 48 hours notice, I am sure you’ll understand that, unfortunately, you will forfeit that session

May I call you between sessions?

Of course! I am there to support you and I am happy to provide support and encouragement between sessions if you wish to share exciting news or have a quick chat about a challenge at no additional charge. It’s important that you know I am there for you. I do request, however, that these calls are kept to about 5-10 minutes.

What else do you think I should I know?

Something that is very important for you to know is that coaching requires ACTION on your part. When being coached, you will be challenged at times as well as supported. So allow yourself to go out of your comfort zone. In order to experience personal and professional growth you need to embrace challenges while I coach you through the process. Without action there can be no progress. Every individual experiences different outcomes and have different needs. You are here because you want positive change in your life or career – embrace the challenges and you will be empowered to overcome them!
