The Great Resignation

According to recent research by Microsoft, more than πŸ’πŸŽ 𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 of the global workforce are considering leaving their employers this year.

The mass exodus has company leaders bracing for a seismic shift in the workforce β€” and the trend is likely to be heading to Australia.

A Deloitte study of 5,000 women in 10 countries, including Australia, India, the US and the UK found that of the 23 per cent of working women considering leaving the workforce, 57 per cent said they planned to leave their current employer in the next two years, which shows that women are feeling less loyal to their employer.

Chief strategy officer of Deloitte Australia, Claire Harding, saidΒ women were interviewed from a range of industries, from hospitality to finance, and more than half were feeling 𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒 πŽππ“πˆπŒπˆπ’π“πˆπ‚ π€ππŽπ”π“ π“π‡π„πˆπ‘ 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐑 ππ‘πŽπ’ππ„π‚π“π’ today than before the pandemic.Β

What will this mean for your career in 2022?

In America, the massive migration from office to remote work during the pandemic has had a profound impact on how people think about their jobs. The result is a societal shift in what workers now consider the career status quo.

Have you been thinking about making a change? Have you reassessed your priorities?

Now that we are in the final quarter of the year, soon job openings and hiring will slow down for the end-of-year ‘silly season’ holidays and we will be celebrating the end of Covid lockdowns.

It’s time to prepare yourself so you canΒ create aΒ successful, happy and rewarding 2022. Goodness knows we need something good to look forward to!
